I am pleased to introduce myself and the Chinese language program I have designed.
I am Zhao, Xiao ou, a Certified Professional Teacher in the People’s Republic of China where I have taught English in primary, middle and high schools for 10 years and at the college and university levels for over 18 years. I immigrated to the United States in 2007 and immediately began work on my textbooks for teaching the spoken and written Chinese language to English speaking students. My teaching experience in America includes the following:
Chinese Teacher: June 2008-July 2008
2008 Virginia STARTALK Chinese Academy
Virginia Commonwealth University, Foreign Language Academy
A Summer Program for Gifted High School Students
Chinese Teacher: September 2008-present
Chinese Sunday School in Richmond (for both Chinese and American Students)
Teach Chinese language to children between ages 5 to 10 years old.
Chinese and English Teacher July 2007-present
Teach both Adults and Children Chinese to English speaking students and English to non-English speaking students.
Obviously you are visiting my website because you are interested in learning to communicate in Chinese and/or you simply wish to know more about the history and culture of China.
Chinese (Mandarin) language skills are easy to learn if presented (taught) properly. With this in mind, I have developed textbooks and teaching methods specifically for children under 14; over 14; and for the adult learner.
Classes are designed to benefit the student in many ways; typically classes will be limited to ten students for children and adults; classes will meet twice a week for a total of four hours per week or once a week for a yotal of two hours per week; class materials include a textbook with a workbook section, a PowerPoint DVD of the textbook and supplemental handouts.
Classes are scheduled to start on the first Saturday every month.
Please see my curriculum for the details.
Summer School Program
Starts on June and ends in September.
